Topline: Nicholas Braun, who stars as fan favorite Cousin Greg on HBO’s Succession, has been tapped to play former WeWork CEO Adam Neumann in a forthcoming limited series about the embattled company, the Hollywood Reporter first reported Wednesday.
The project is in early development by Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content, and no writer has been attached to the project yet.
The limited series will be based on a soon-to-be-released book about WeWork by Wall Street Journal reporters Eliot Brown and Maureen Farrell.
Braun will serve as an executive producer on the series, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The production companies are also readying a documentary based on Brown and Farrell’s book.
News peg: Brown and Farrell’s book will be about the rise and dramatic unraveling of WeWork, which was at one point one of the most highly valued private startups in the U.S. Adam Neumann in particular has faced criticism for his eccentric management style, lavish expenses (such as a company private jet) and mismanagement that led to the scuttling of the real estate company’s IPO.
Jav Uncensored Key background: This is the third major WeWork project in the pipeline. A feature film is already in the works and will be written by Charles Randolph, who co-wrote The Big Short and penned Bombshell. Business Insider is also working to produce a documentary about the company.
